Ramapo Compost Interns
We are seeking two motivated Ramapo college students to join us as Composting Interns.
Source Compost is a small business based out of Wayne, NJ. We have a small team and together, we help people get started with composting. Whether that’s through providing them with a service, starting a community program, or teaching them how to compost themselves, we can help. This hands-on role can be customized for students interested in sustainability, environmental studies, biology, psychology, AI, writing, entomology, agriculture, social media marketing, and/or community engagement. Regardless of their specialty, each intern will gain practical experience in traditional backyard composting, the industry of commercial composting, community outreach, sales, and public speaking.
Students will facilitate the on-campus composting program, educate the local community about composting at the Ramsey Farmer’s Market, and help Source Compost with research in organics recycling.

If diverting food waste from landfill, educating the public about sustainability, and being outside sounds like a good weekend to you, we’d love your help! Please fill out our interest and availability form below.
We go to the Ramsey and Wayne Farmer’s Markets on a regular basis. Depending on volunteer availability, we’d like to have a larger presence at other farmer’s markets within our service area.
